The continued success of VLA depends upon the generous commitment of time and effort made by volunteer attorneys. VLA provides not only an invaluable resource for artists in the New York City area but also an exciting opportunity for attorneys to interact with artists in the community and contribute meaningfully to their work. Support for VLA volunteer attorneys takes a number of forms. All volunteer attorneys are required to attend a New Attorney Orientation. Due to increased demand, VLA now runs monthly New Attorney Orientations.

VLA continually strives to develop relationships with law firms and corporate legal departments in order to facilitate pro bono assistance to the arts community. Beyond orientations, VLA staff frequently make presentations at law firms, corporate legal departments, pro bono forums and bar association events concerning VLA’s activities in order to encourage attorneys in the region to do pro bono work for the arts community.
